The play, which owes its name to the Greek fable, addresses the theme of the dignity of the human spirit through the struggle for freedom. This struggle has been the central objective of the life of the mythical slave and fable teller Aesop, who attempts to obtain his freedom using his intelligence and his repertoire of fables.
